Generally how secure is it using mel or python scripts for Maya?
Recently started a new job as a hard surface modeler. Everything still kind of starting up and at the studio so was looking to improve the workflow to use some more modern boolean workflows. However like any studio security of assets of a concern.
We're trying to verify whether using some Maya scripts, like SpeedCut, would pose a security concern?

We here use the security tools to check files.

There is an integrated version in the works for the next maya update.
There's nothing stopping a script from stealing all your data and opening your network up to the entire internet if your IT policies are shit but equally there are much more effective ways of sneaking malware into an organisation than in a human readable script file.
you are very unlikely to have a problem outside of the shitty maya worm thing (which is mel based iirc)
