I create this texture of mud like you can see.
But in my project looks weird.
In the distance like you can check, it looks bad.
The terrain is quite large, that's true, the resolution is 2048, from above it looks a bit better, but still in the area where some light reaches it, it is totally a disaster, I have lowered the skylight a little and well .. It does not convince me, so I was wondering if I have a wrong option that causes that. If I tile much more, it looks worse. I've lowered the roughness and it still looks bad

Tile at different rates and then blend between those based on camera distance.
Add a fresnel to your roughness so the glancing angle becomes less glossy.
Play around with lighting and colour grading, etc.
