Environment Builder / set-dresser
Proelium Studios is looking for a passionate environment builder / set-dresser. This role involves working with the Creative Director to pitch, build, polish, and ship levels using Unreal Engine 4. It involves close collaborative work with the Creative Director to ensure the level ships on time at a high standard of quality, while also being fun and memorable to players.
This position requires a strong artistic eye while utilizing already made assets.
Responsibilities:
- Set-dress single player levels based on existing game design layouts and direction from project leadership. This involves taking a level all the way from a paper design to a shipping product, iterating over time based on feedback, creative goals, and project deadlines.
- Prototype, iterate, and polish levels utilizing ready-made assets in UE4.
- Maintaining folder organization and converting store bought asset packs to our master material configurations.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Strong artistic vision and world building skills inside game engines.
- Proven track record of building and shipping large level environments. Should include videos or screenshots of levels, and any additional documentation showing design and iteration process.
- Strong eye towards aesthetics
- Excellent documentation, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to maintain focus and self-motivation towards the current project goals.
- 3+ years of experience with Unreal Engine
