Headphones / Speakers, what are you using?

I took a chance on these weird Nuraphones. They were a bit fiddly until I got used to them. Right now they just.... might... be my favorite headphones overall... which is saying a lot because I normally swear by open back and these are closed. The only reason I bring this up here is because I figure it's holiday time and sales and stuff and a lot of people listen to music while doing their content stuff. If you were looking for some interesting headphones I can recommend these. I'm not affiliated with the company at all. So I guess if you recommend some headphone you could put it here. But I think these ones right here have the best bass in any headphone I've ever used and it's not even close.

They are wireless with active and passive noise canceling.

Hehe, the juvenile in me is thinking "Not only will we hug your ear, we're gonna be inside of it too.  Giggity."

This is now the headphone / speaker thread.

I work from home in a detached house, so normally I listen to these speakers, which I built myself.

The monitors are a design by Jeff Bagby called the Continum II. It's based on the classic BBC LS3/5A, a studio monitor design for nearfield listening. You can buy kits to build them yourself. The subwoofer is a simple 12" sealed cube with a DSP amp. The monitors are hard maple, the sub is ply with maple veneer.

With Covid, my speakers have mostly been silent. My wife works from now which means lots of headphone use. I'm using the Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro, which is the most comfortable set of cans I've ever owned. They sound great too. It's an open ear design (which helps with comfort, less clamping force needed to seal). If I were in an office environment I would probably go for a closed ear design, but these are perfect for working from home. They are kind of fugly, but again, very comfortable

    I stopped using those Beyerdynamics.

Their spiral cable managed to wrap itself around the armrest of my Aeron all the time. So annoying.

Derp. I copy pasted from a FB album, which seems to have somehow linked to the image in the album rather than uploading and inserting. I uploaded them directly now

When I started working from home, I picked up a pair of SENNHEISER HD 6XX headphones and AudioEngine A2+ speakers.  The speakers I went with mainly because they are pretty small and I like the way they look :)

I've a hearing impediment and if I recall correctly was diagnosed a while ago as tinnitus (constant ringing in the ears) actually come to think of it more prominent in the right ear. So along with a planned total system upgrade sometime in the new year, also thought it prudent too shop around for a pair high end aural peripherals as well, since I mix/create EDM music on the side. And as it happens Sennheiser RS 175 RF [Wireless]  does seem to top the list of most online reviews, especially the ones geared toward those with hearing loss, although a bit pricey (aussie dollars) but eh! if the quality's there I'm prepared to take the extra hit in the hip pocket.

Try DJ speakers, like Stanton's. High quality sound, more stable construction, lots of decibells, pretty affordable.
