ZBrush - Performance issue or setting?

I'm using a Wacom tablet to sculpt and picked the free hand stroke and a hard circular alpha for the brush. I seem to be having trouble with drawing speed. The top stroke was made fast and bottom one was made slowly. Not sure why, but making fast strokes produces this dotted/stamp effect. It's even more noticeable with a square alpha for the brush. Is this a performance issue (which I don't think so, my machine is quite decent) or is it something in the settings? Or is just the way ZBrush works?
