Hey, I decided to rework the witcher tavern scene that I made 4 years ago. Would love to hear your thoughts. The major focus of this thread will be relighting and color grading.
- Shots from the old scene
- Current changes. Changed and optimized textures and models
The lighting is definitely more impactful than the original few images, Great work! The last image in particular has some real potential there. I love how there's this cold, cooler hue of light coming through the window which tell so much about the world outside of the Tavern. Would love to see that contrast pushed further between the cool of the outside and warmth of the inside.
@teodar23 Thanks yes I will try some fill ambiance. I am fighting against it not been too bright and making sure it's well lit all with making sure its night outside.
@KW_Arts Thanks I will try to do that. I am fighting darkness a.t.m :c
You might want to disable postprocessing alltogether while nailing down the lighting. When you are satisfied with the lighting, turn pp back on and tweak that as well.

Sure I can try that again. Although PP isn't doing much apart from bumps in decimal. But I guess it will be good to try it out. Thanks!

-Blocking lights and I am aware that it's dark.
Lifting some areas with spot lights-
I hope this helped!

Adding more photons will make everything bright. I am subtly painting with spotlights to keep it dimly light.
Update-
Feel saturated maybe I can tone it down for next
Had to change some textures to make them Pbr correct or the reflectance was bad and some objects keep absorbing light and looked dark.
Direct from UE 4.
Did some color grading in photoshop. Found out that PS also has some LUT's. Color grading is like a whole new world of its own
Gonna call this side down and will work on other sides now. Ended up playing with exposure and shutter speed in UE4.
Made a short video if anyone wants to watch it-
Thanks!
