A few weeks ago I took part in a weekly challenge with the topic being Retro Electronics. I decided to extend my project and create a 90s/20s nostalgic scene.
I am using a photo by Romain Durat as my concept but I will probably be making a few changes to make it more personal to me.
Always open to feedback!

I added the textures to the scene to get a feel for how things are going. I haven't messed with lighting yet, just threw in a Sky Dome light but from this alone I feel like I need to adjust some of the textures. I would love some feedback and hear how I can improve going forward!
Update
@Dethling It is set in the 90s. For the book, I was thinking that it was passed down from a parent, but I can see how it might look out of place. I'll do another pass for players handbook to make it look either more used or change the book so that it clearly fits the timeline.
If you want to keep the timeline right, I would also exchange the Gameboy Advance (release 2001) with a normal Gameboy (release 1989). I think this is what really set me off - the red book vs the Gameboy advance.
I think with a classic Gameboy you could also keep the "red book" (I like the "passed down" idea, especially as you managed to make it look really used).
I've also decided to switch out the computer from the original image. The G3 came out in 1998 and while it was released in the 90s, I feel like its not the first type of computer you think of when looking back at that time. Another reason I wanted to switch it is because I feel like it would fit the character better.
I didn't go through all the comments only saw your screengrabs pretty dope. All Id say is have a focal point or focal object. I am getting confused about where to look. Change your luminance values if need be or lights. Its up to you though ^^ gl
Update:
Here are some suggestions! Goodluck, looking forward to seeing the final.
I would love some feedback on how to make the lava lamp better. I feel like it stands out in not a good way.
I think I'm calling it done! Thanks to everyone for the great feedback!
