Hi guys,
I'm new here and need some help from you all.
My primary occupation is 2D Motion Graphics and I've started to do some 3D work recently for one of my clients.
Now, I know I'm charging them way too little. We were like: "I'm not experienced 3D artist but I can try it. I won't charge you much because it will be a new experience for you and me."
But through the time, I got better at it and everyone is praising the work I've been doing for them.
It's not world class but here's an example of work that I'm currently doing for them:
I get STL model from them that usually needs polishing and modeling some of the parts, like logo cutouts, stickers, rubber feet, screws and in this particular case, all of the insides.
Depending on complexity of the model, I spend about a day or two on doing that.
Then I proceed to create animated scenes and render out the preview which take two to three days.
When client gives a green light on the video, I do a final render, 2D stuff and audio which all together takes about a day or two.
I'm using Cinema with Redshift render, After Effects for post.
My question is - how much would you ask (fixed price if possible) to do a video like that one?

If you feel like you're too slow at the 3d and feel bad about it then drop your hourly rate for the 3d work by a bit to compensate but honestly a few hundred dollars either way doesn't mean anything.
