I'd give the shoulders a bit more sway at the beginning. When he hears the cricket, the head shouldn't go directly to the bug but instead be a bit off so when the eyes open they have to scan the area for a moment before finding the bugs exact position. The shocked look on the his face could be enhanced by changing the pupil size and opening the mouth more (instead of keeping to the opened "^" shape). The landing feels too stiff after the jump, either bend the joints more to make it more natural, or have him bounce a bit if you want it to be be more cartoony.
