So the groups are combined onto one tool? maybe separate them 1st? (think doing anything will remove the groups, if they are by color choice.) That is all i got, i think no matter what you choose the groups may change, i think i ran into this also and just gave into the results and just did them again when i am satisfied, sucks yea. I have found in the past that if dynamesh crashes like this it will sometimes fix it if you try dynamesh at a slightly different resolution. Even if it's only slightly eg: 750 instead of 800.
