Question about hard edges on smoothed models

So I'm working on a low poly model and the curves are smooth in Maya but when I bring it to Zbrush they are all hard edges. Do I need to make a ultra rounded version with like 50 edges instead of 20 for importing into Zbrush or is there a quick fix for this sort of issue. Thanks

Zbrush doesn't smooth normals on viewport, only when rendering. For hard surface sculpting you want to use beveling and creases to retain edges when subdividing.

So the easiest way to handle this is to use the "Polish by Features" tool which can be found under the deformations portion of tool bar:
Turn off the dot next to it to have a larger difference and pull the orange handle to the right to effect your model. If you have enough subdivisions you should start to see those edges get rounded out. Do that several times to get the effect you want. If your mesh is still low poly just go Zplugin -> DynaMesh Master -> Dynamesh to give your model more polygons to work with.

    Hope this helps!
