How can I improve the topology of these pants

I'm making this a thread because there really isn't a lot of coverage across the internet for these type of pants and maybe it can assist someone in the future. 

I'm trying to create a pair of really baggy pants. Won't be using any cloth physics, I'm just going to animate it with my rig. I'm going for something similar to this (pants only, not the armored parts).
 

And produced this as a result.
Tapering the shape and exterior should be easy enough but for now I'm primarily looking for advice on the topology. Based on the limited references I was able to find this should be roughly acceptable but still not sure.
