Baking Curvature - Seams

Really struggling to bake a curvature map on a fairly simple model as a test without getting hard-to-understand behavior around UV seams.
If I zoom in on the area right in the middle...

There's this hard seam, most notable on the corner, where the curvature map goes from nearly white to darker than the surrounding area, even though the relative curvature seems very similar. That seam is a UV seam, but I still don't understand why the corner would be dark on top and light on bottom of the seam.

Obviously the UV layout for the model could be improved, but I don't understand why the curvature map can't bake fine on this one. I've tried a huge constellation of things to try to fix this - padding, baking options, tangent spaces, etc etc, and nothing seems to help. Would deeply appreciate any help - I'm new to baking maps, and I suspect I'm missing something obvious.

I've attached a .rar that includes the high and low poly objs.
