Check your model again. That's either UV, normal or triangulation related
If it came from maya check it 3 times after performing the various history deleting/cleanup/combination with a cube/sacrificing newborn rituals. Fwiw non-manifold verts gets exploded by fbx and will often result in that sort of thing..
If you still can't see anything wrong, export the model from painter and look at in in something else - that will show you what painter is getting. If it's different from your original model then you know where the problem is.
