Rune Enchanted Waster "Wooden Sword" (Feedback needed)

EDIT: I updated it, but I hadn't seen I gotten feedback, so I will make a newer version with said feedback(and a metal version). I blended the glowing runes into the wood itself, made them smaller, and changed the colors.

ORIGINAL POST:
So, as test, I made a "wooden sword" using procedurally/in-engine generated wood(heavily modified Voronoi and Wave textures into colorramp nodes). This was the result. Also, I guess the runes are too big/too overpowering? Maybe I need to work on the lighting a bit.

Maybe I should have colored it brown, lol.

Brian "Panda" Choi high dynamic range
Yeah the runes are too prominent and it should be more brown.

Reads less like wood and more damascus steel.  I would look into using a specific timber reference.

@Brian "Panda" Choi I see, thanks for the feedback, I made this update before reading your post, so I will see about the timber reference and turning the runes brown, I did make them blend into the wood with the udpate, lol, (although, since it's a fantasy wood "Iron Oak" with the properties of metal, which this could be the in-universe reason it looks partially like damascus steel. : P Although do you recommend I just stick to actual wooden textures even for fantasy related stuff for realism/familiarity to the viewer?)

Speaking of damacus steel, I did use a pattern similar to it for this sword, where I took the damascus pattern and blended it into itself like a repeating tile in photoshop and used it for the inner part of the blade as a normal.
