Are you using anatomyical references while you're sculpting, or doing this straight from imagination?

I'm using some references in the process. The main idea is to get start on the basics, sculpting everything.

Regarding faces, I'd just focus on recreating the Asaro planar head (google it), and understand which bony landmarks and muscle forms "create" the planes of the face.
