@ZeroBiit Hey, thanks for that one, does seem to work on 3ds max 2019 and upward, need to wait untill i am at work to try it out. I am sitting on a older model here at home.
@wirrexx Yeah there were lots of updates from 2020 through 2021. There is also a weighted normals modifier in 2021.
Best, Martin
Hey Martin, while it works better in the newer versions, i have such a terrible slowdowns in the 21 version. I have a ryzen 3700x and accordingly to Autodesk, i need to turn off SMT to make it work better. But i think that it's quite lazy from Autodesk to not have it compatible with a multithreaded cpu.
Hey wirrexx, I have a i9 (8 core 16 thread) and a 12 core threadripper. I don't notice any slowdowns and don't have SMT turned off. Is there something specific that is causing the slowdowns, or a particular scene? I'd be happy to look into this. The best way is giving us something that is reproducible on our end. It makes fixing issues much easier.
@coven hey Mate, It's the viewport and UI menus, when moving them to expand, It takes 4-5 second for them to move + show up. The viewport is very sluggish and causes delays. My Max is using my XT 5700 RX. And for the 2016 at home, i have none so ever problems with that
