Can a project be opened and worked on in an older UE4 version?

Say a project was done in ue 4.24 and u want to open it in ue 4,16. Is there a way to do this? From my research online, this isn' t possible. So I am hoping maybe someone here might have a workaround or maybe a way it can be done?

Unfortunately , this is not possible. Things are forward compatible but not backwards. Kind of wondering why would you want to go back to such an old version.

I kinda figured that is the case. Is it possible to migrate materials from a newer version to older version?
EDIT: I don't think so.
