Mmmm... I like the idea, but some thing is lost....

I'm not sure, but may be the composition need to be more focused. I think that you make it a panoramic view for show the scale of the forest but the bark textures are to big. In consequence the scale are inconsistent (tree, barks textures) with the objects and deep. In addition, you could utilize more vegetation or stones to hide the tree base of the left tree...

the second image is better, may be you need to move the camera for the third's focus points composition are more coincident.

I love how the rocks look, Specially with the snow on top.
Although I think the scene could use a stronger focal point!
