Hey everyone. I am working on a project for the Warlock competition on flipped normal. I feel like something is off. Can anyone give me some advice on how I can improve.
I think the composition could be improved if you zoomed out enough to get the tops of the trees in frame. Reduce the floating islands to maybe just one large guy and put it in a position where it compliments the curve of the roof/hat a little better.
Could also consider dropping the trees which kill the interesting house silhouette. Maybe put them down below to add interest to the lower portion of the screen since you would have a lot more empty space from zooming out.
I'm not a fan of the color palette, but I dunno if there is anything objective to say about that. I think since we are in the mountains and up in the clouds, maybe less greenery and more jagged rocks or something? Just seems like a bit incongruous.

Thank you so much. Ill try that out! Ill try some other colors and see where that takes me as well.
That feels nicer to me. I like how you matched the skybox colors with the house. Makes it all feel more cohesive.
Only other suggestion I might add is maybe the clouds can play along with the lines of the landscape? And I'm not sure what exactly to do, but if you are considering the overall value range maybe something more can be done there. Perhaps some 2d painters might have some good ideas about that sort of thing.
Thanks for the critique, I like this revision a lot more. I am still playing around with the color pallet and regarding the clouds, that is something on my list along with adjusting the background terrain and the sigh. I am also have some lighting issues as well I am trying to fix. I appreciate the input.
