I'm trying to model something similar to this:
What I'm trying to do is to create a single cylinder for the holes, and then use a combination of array/mirror to create the pattern, which is hexagonal. However I can't figure out how to do it, or even if this approach is possible.
The whole point of this exercise is to keep the original geometry as simple as possible, so if I wanted to resize the holes for example, I only need to modify the original, and the modifiers will take care of the rest. Hopefully that makes sense.
