3ds max weird chamfer behaviour

Hi, i try to make a pretty simple chamfer but for some reason 3ds max acts completely different than Maya or Blender (did it perfectly fine using these programs). I tried reseting Xform, scale, trasformation etc. Used all the new "fancy" 3ds max but still no solution. Am i doing something wrong? Why is this so difficult?

As you can see in the screens, simple tris chamfer creates a mess in the corner area and the quad chamfer creates a mess in the lower area where i used insert. Last shot is from Maya where i have the exact result that i want. How can i do this?
