I don't know how I feel about this website being almost as old as I am.
Happy 22nd, and thank you so much for all the admins, moderators and members who worked so hard and contributed so much in making this community what it is today. I wouldn't be where I am as an artist if it wasn't for all of you.
Btw.. I can't post bc the Copyright bar is in front of my sumit-button.. was this intended ? Edit: ok the trick is to squeeze the website until the buttons show up.. nice one
Yeah also didnt have post buttons until I made my window shorter in width as well. Happy birthday polycount, and thanks to all the mods and admins who have worked over the years to support this community and site The #1 game art site on the web!
Never been as consistent with any other website, in my life. Always come back to see whats up with the black and green, Happy belated. Let's aim for 100+ ya'll!
I don't know where you guys are looking, but I see plenty of WIPs being shared. What I don't see is a ton of feedback being given, and that's a change from the old times. Probably because the traffic is just so much higher now, there are a ton of threads being posted.
Yeah, fair point. Had personally noticed over recent years the increased volume of traffic, especially on popular boards whilst more than a few others, less so or not at all. Anyway, just thinking out loud here regarding feedback, one possible option to bear in mind is perhaps set aside a section for focused critique or something along those lines. Though probably wholly dependent upon whether feasible to begin with when the current number of sub-forums is taken into account, participation in terms of peer reviewer and/or curation for that matter alongside a given level of audience traction which for some can be a little intimidating.

As a professional lurker, I noticed this as well. There are a lot of WIP and showcase threads, but the ones that should get feedback seldom do, while others get praise and "keep up" remarks. There is what seems to be a core group of members here who do give good feedback and I see them post on many threads, which is great. Just need to get that to happen more (and not by 6 people only).

Yeah, I should maybe stop lurking so much. Apologies Polycount.

to 22 more years of 15 degree angled websites and little green bitey-men
but it's sad there are less and less active users on these forums. what's happening? social media and smartphones?
'face too face' platforms seem to be all the rage these dayz...
I guess showcasing art turned into some fire-and-forget habit. It started with the wip-thread and then (also) moved to social media.
When I think about how many comments a normal wip-thread had back in the days, compared to today, there has definitely changed _something_.
What I really like is that there is a lot more diversity on the boards now. Different age, sex and origin. This is really cool.
