Hello folks, i'm working on game ready charactor, inspired by the early Middle Ages of Eastern Europe (I do not pretend to historical accuracy). Now i'm almost done with my Hight poly and prepearing to deal with retology and baking normal. I'll be grateful if you share your opinion.
Thank you @Sora123! No, this is not based on the concept, I made a rough sketch and started working with it. Also here are the most influential references.
Hey she's looking good so far! Nice clean modelling.
I think you could push the design a bit, add some interesting breakup to the scale mail on the front, for example this guy has a crest in the middle, could have some pieces missing from combat, or some larger pieces, or a cloth to breakup the metal like the guy on the right.
Her boots may be a bit too modern looking, in your reference the leather is quite loose and would have some more folds in it.
@Sora123, yes in the future I'll add a shield. I think it will be a simple kite shield. Also i want to make a helmet with chain mail mask and a big collar, but I'm not sure if I can lay the chainmail pattern correctly. And I don’t know if that makes sens, because it can bring a lot of problems when animating.
Pav3d, Thank you for your design notes. You are absolutely right, lately I was captured by technical part too mach and i missed that the design looks a bit poor. I'll try to fix it.
I know this guy on youtube that goes deep into the subject of medieval armor and weapon here is axemple of shields maybi you can use it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zEsjPQeWmd8
