Sometimes while textuing in substance painter in a heavy scene with alot of layers at high res, response time becomes very slow, ideally I would like to see a feature to partially pause realtime viewport rendering, so I can make a bunch of changes to settings and tweak values without having to wait for the viewport to update per action.
Does anyone have any techniques to replicate this type of behaviour in painter or just make painter run smoother in general for high res heavy scenes?

that mask painting mode with paused rendering / update would be awesome, alas I think your right about it not happening, I suppose we can only dream
