Hello everyone, here is an environment i've been working on for the past few months. I'm happy with how it turned out and any feedback + CC is more than welcome
red - the grout between the bricks is visible even in very dark places, like its emmisive or something. maybe your normal is too strong.
green - i see some normal issues here, not the normalmap but the mesh normals seem to be too soft.
light blue - no fence will be constructed so random, not even the most inept builders will pull something like that . if you want to do it damaged, decrease the angles drastically and bend some of them but just the top or the bottom part because that horizontal bar should keep them pretty much in place.
blue - modularity is good but don't overdo it by placing identical meshes right next to each other because repetition is ugly. also that column has visible smoothing issues.
orange - those protruding bricks are too much, the rest of the material is pretty uniform and those brick meshes stick out too much.
I think a bit more time spent creating buildings in the distance with better silhouettes would have done quite a bit here. I also think the light from the candles is too orange and overpowering, and there aren't enough dark spots/shadows in the scene to make it seem like night. It looks a lot like Bloodborne, and I feel you could have used some references from that. All of your textures are pretty noisy, which is distracting, and I'm not sure where to look because of this, so I feel you could tone down the intensity of the normals on some places.
Good work though, I love the gothic feel this project has.
