I've been scanning hard-surface items lately, such as gun parts, tools, car parts, etc. So far, I managed to get the scans in really good shape with minimal post-processing. Now I'm figuring out how to remesh them properly in order to use in-engine. I started with
http://www.meshlab.net but the end result is not that great for hard-surface items, I always tend to get no so great edges. Of course, for animation that doesn't matter because I'm scanning the individual parts and assembling inside Blender.
What do you guys use for remeshing? Do you actually retopology or are there better tools out there?

And i would testdrive the new zremesher in zbrush2019.
Houdini does have the same plugin as a node. This could be automated in Houdini.
