They didn't have much choice, almost all the big studios had already pulled out over fears of the Coronavirus. If they didn't postpone it the event would have been a ghost town.
Really sucks though for those that already bought plane tickets and/or had setup their schedule around the event.
Yep, I'm one of those folks stuck into the trip due to non-refundable tickets / hotel. Oh well, SF ain't a bad place for a quick holiday. Reckon there will still be plenty of game-dev folks kicking it around town
Yeah, that blows, but it makes sense for safety sake. I'm curious to see when it'll be held, later on this year. I'm debating if it's just better to wait until next year, or plan for other events by then.
It's unfortunate but it is understandable. Sadly I will be in SF for the time of the convention. Figured there might be some game devs around to network with and hopefully meet again in 2021.
