Wondering how to replicate the Crystal from Destiny's Dreaming City in Designer

Hey all,

Im toiling away at my Final Year project, for which i have chosen to create a scene inspired by the Dreaming City. Something thats been giving me grief is trying to replicate this material in Designer:

Its mainly the streaks that im trying to replicate. Thus far  i've replicated something that looks like this:

I cant seem to wrap my head around getting the correct look for the crystal streaks. Im using UE4 and the engine setup im using for it is this:

The way im trying to set this material up is to be based around a Lerp which controls the hue of the various crystal parts (streaks and clouds being separate, namely). Im curious if anyone has any suggestions on how they'd create the streaks? Any help would be greatly appreciated, cheers.
