Hi all!

I've started a new environment piece and I thought I'd post some progress pics here along the way. Although I won't be replicating it exactly, I'm inspired by Elfreth's Alley in Philadelphia. Here's a photo:

What I've done so far is blocking out some basic shapes and attempting to find a nice lighting setup. Unlike the photo, I'm aiming for a more evening-type of lighting. Here's what I've got so far:

Although there might not be much to comment on right now, I'm open to all feedback. I'm sure there's some things that are off in scale; I find that's always tricky to nail. I'll be sure to include a human ref model in future screenshots.

Thanks, and take care!

Kinda slow progress! I made a brick material, and threw my modules around roughly to create a more interesting composition.

I don't know but the scale seems off? maybe add a UE4 character in there for scale?

Could definitely be that things are a tad big! I find scale super tricky actually. I could also be that I cranked the camera FOV up to 100 to get a more dramatic shot. I lowered the FOV to 70 and put the UE4-guy next to the window:

Windows are maybe a bit too big, eh?

I understand that you are not doing an exact copy of your ref but i think you should use other refs for buildings especially. Working off memory and imagination isnt bad in any way, but i feel that the buildings dont have any real life correlation and look very fantasy like, just my 2 cents...
