Designer: Normal Node sampling?

Hello,
Was curious if anyone knew the type of filter the atomic Normal node uses inside Substance Designer. The Sobel Normal and HeightToNormalWorldUnits has a PP that illustrates better whats happening with the conversion from Height to Normal but the atomic Normal node I don't know what it's doing. Anyone have any insight on it?
