Regarding getting into games : I think it would be nice to have some walk/run cycles to show ; and then of course attacks, jumps, the whole thing. One could even push things a little further by showing all that mapped to an ingame controler but that's just icing on the cake since most game studios will have dedicated tech folks taking care of that. Good thing to be familiar with though, as it would show an understanding of good hub poses, snappy anticipation, and so on.
Also I'd love to ask : where is the yellow tanktop/blue haired character from ? Looks nice and fresh (and of course well animated !)
The guy's name is Vlad, he's from a game I've been helping out on in my spare time called Shot One! You can check it out on twitter https://twitter.com/ShotOne_
Also here is a shot I recently finished that I spent the last couple months chipping away at in my spare time
