Hello! Student project here, looking for some criticism on my progress. I'll try to update here as I go, and hopefully improve as well
The goal here is to create a game-ready character off the chosen concept.
The concept is from artist Giorgio Baroni who I found on Arstation
https://www.artstation.com/artwork/b1weo RD-10 was part of his submission (and 1st place winner) of the "Beaneath The Waves" Character/Creature Design contest held in late 2017
With all that said! Here is my progress so far:
Asset List/Call Outs:
There is no original concept for the back side (what I assume is the propulsion mechanism?)
So taking inspuration from other artist's renditions (
https://www.artstation.com/artwork/l2KNa,
https://www.artstation.com/artwork/L2vOAP, &
https://www.artstation.com/artwork/ZvVyG) I came up with a mental picture of what I want it to look like.
Next
step is to list out the “assets” or portions of the project. This will help me
break the project up into sections to focus on.
The
callout sheet will help me match the materials as best as I can
Replies
Ive begun on my basic modeling. I’ll be using the ZBrush male model to start as my base, which saves me time I can later use to add more detail.
Any thoughts or criticisms are welcome!
These are just base shapes that will get added detail later.
Some numbers of before the re-top.
After a nice UV sesh.
Final numbers look like this. Pretty content with them.
