Hello! Here are this weeks progress, everything has been made low poly for retopping and currently doing the UV layouts, UV tips and tricks would be greatly appreciated!
Is that your final UV layout? Huge amount of empty space aside, the face looks kind of squished in there. Do you think her face is going to end up with a lower pixel density than the rest of her body. The back of her head even seems like its taking up more surface area than the face. If you are planning on using a 3D painting program like Substance Painter you don't have to worry that much about seams.
@JamesBrisnehan The one for her body yes but, the assets not at all! I don't believe her face will end up with lower pixel density because it's 2048x2048 UV's, i did do a higher re topology for her face to capture those details--that may be why she looks squished. and yes! I will be using substance painter and that's why her seams are all towards the back/under arms so you don't see, if any, seams. Thank you for your feedback and inquiry!
@carvuliero Hello! sorry it wasn't clear, it's not for game it's going to be for my Portfolio Demo Reel. And. yes I agree with you, if it was for game, I'd cut out what you wouldn't see, thank you for suggesting that! Also, yes, i was worried about putting too many seams but, I'll try that in my next character if it will help me get cleaner UV's. Overall thank you so much!
