Agisoft Photoscan running out of memory

I have a dense cloud in Photoscan (250 Million) that I want to mesh into a 20million model. But the process keeps getting interrupted by an error message saying that the system (32GB RAM) is running out of memory (even though Photoscan isn't even using all memory at the time of the error). How do I fix this?

Photoscan will definitely be using all available memory for something that heavy, you just might not notice because it can spike up and down. It might work if you try to mesh it at a lower tri count, but I suspect the cloud is too dense.

I was able to alleviate the problem by increasing the size of the windows page file (50GB). The error no longer appears, but of course the hard drive isn't as fast as the RAM.

To really solve this adding more physical memory is necessary I guess.

I know this doesn't address your issue, but you might have better luck with Reality Capture. The alternative is that you break up your point cloud into chunks and batch process them. It's been many years since I used agisoft, but I'm sure it has some batch processing tools.

Yeah,  Reality Capture is not such a RAM hog . Only reason I use it  really

Photoscan can consume as much as 128GB of RAM in some cases.

Learn to optimize your input images by reducing them to a lower resolution and/or cropping your images to fill the frame with just your subject.
