(Full-time) Immotion Group Plc seeks Worldbuilder/Environment Artist

Job Description

As a world builder and environment artist, you will create believable, compelling environments while ensuring that the work is in line with technical constraints and artistic direction.

Key responsibilities
  • World-building/level design in Unity with consideration of narrative and visual storytelling
  • Collaborate on planning and initial block out to final polish and optimization
  • Translate concept and reference artwork into 3D assets as required, setting a high-quality bar
  • Prototype new techniques and processes
  • Create high and low-poly models and accompanying texture sets
  • Collaborate with the art team to deliver innovation and quality

Requirements
  • High-level world-building expertise in Unity
  • World-building experience
  • Advanced knowledge of Maya or Max
  • Good level of skill in Substance painter and/or Photoshop
  • A great eye for form, scale and detail
  • Natural flair for composition and lighting
  • Excellent verbal and written skills and ability to both take critique and give feedback in a professional manner
  • Diligent self-management of both individual and team tasks on schedule
  • Strong organizational skills with adherence to optimization and asset management
  • 2+ years production art experience in the gaming industry
  • Strong portfolio of recent work

Desirable skills
  • Traditional art skills (drawing, painting, sculpting, photography)
  • Understanding of narrative world-building
  • Skill in a digital sculpting package eg. Z-Brush
  • World Machine/or equivalent experience
  • Concept skills - Ability to visualize, concept and design
  • Bachelor's degree in Graphics Design, Art or other relevant training
  • Keen interest in VR
