Our Barcelona studio is looking for a Senior Level Designer to join the team.
Job Description
- Design balanced, fun and immersive levels on projects for the mobile game market.
- Coordinate the work with art and development teams in order to ensure quality and on time delivery of the projects.
- Document and analyze the created levels. Compare with other games levels to extract learnings to improve the level design. Keep the design documentation updated.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- At least 2 years of experience as a level designer on action-games
- At least 1 published game
- Solid knowledge in both level design (visibility, affordance, space creation, difficulty balancing, pacing & progression, team-play, objectives placement…) and game design (learning curve, gameplay & reward loops, accessibility, controls ergonomy…).
- Strong experience with Level Editors (in-house, Unreal, CryEngine, Unity etc.)
- Knowledge of other 3D softwares (Blender, 3DS Max, Maya etc.)
- Ability to prototype and share ideas (using basic knowledge in scripting language (JS, LUA…))
- Able to convey ideas concisely and as part of a detailed analysis, and to clearly formalize complex concepts and ideas.
- Able to illustrate your ideas visually (Photoshop, Flash, Sketch-up, PowerPoint, etc.)
- High visual creativity and passion for creating video games.
- Knowledge of classic console and freemium mobile game market, their flagship titles and their audience.
- Able to work as part of a team and inspire motivation to your teammates.
- Ability to communicate as part of the project development team.
- Able
to listen to feedback from other people and constantly critique your
work and being constructive and proactive in order to achieve the best
possible quality.
Assets:
- Design / Composition: Able to draw sketches and digitally create images or videos.
- Good general knowledge (history, literature, science, entertainment) and a sense of aesthetics for creating general style guides. Ample knowledge of videogames both in classic console and mobile markets.
- Excellent level of English.
