Im an aspiring Environment and Prop Artist looking for a step in the industry, and willing to relocate if necessary.
With full knowledge how competitive the industry and working in another industry full time , im very determined to still keep trying. I managed my time to learn and keep up with the standards of the current Market standards . And was even featured on CGSociety recently.

https://srinivasjlkm.artstation.com/ . And I am willing to put in "Maximum Effort " to be part of an industry I believe I would enjoy and make others entertained by. Currently learning Houdini as well as I find it interesting
In almost a year , I revamped my skills , learnt a lot from tutorials, improved my portfolio based on feedback from Pros from the industry. And surprisingly had some of my work featured a few times on CGSociety including being featured on CGSociety news .
Having a full time job outside the game industry where I was supposed to slog at work and being able to keep learning after work or whenever possible was the biggest challenge. Getting job rejections was not that inspiring either but it did motivate myself to work harder, do better and create better pieces for my portfolio. But In a year when I say I learnt a lot, im not talking about just softwares.
I was lucky enough to speak to industry experts from Directors, Producers, Artists and a few others who seemingly were impressed with my work and were willing to refer me too and yet I was unable to break through. The current standards and competition keeps getting harder by the day. But by speaking with people and having to freelance and be part of communities where I work within a team online ....all these gave me a better understanding of the industry ,market, people.
So looking back to 2019 , even though filled with rejected applications I consider it a big year for me and what I was able to get through and achieve personally and professionally. On the side note I grew rapidly in my full time job too, from being an Artist to leading a team of Artists . So I really hope these advances in my professional life help me break though the industry as I believe that eventually I can lead a team of Artist in the Game industry . I think one of my strength is communication and people management based on my experience. It may not be officially on paper or in my resume as experienced.
But having a portfolio just as an Artist is not going to get me the position I want. And I am not sure how to prove to a recruiter I am capable of leading a team with no prior title as a lead. This part I may have some trouble figuring out for now but I will get there eventually.I dont think my passion for this would die yet, and I would keep working on my portfolio and applying in hope to land my dream job someday.
