WIP Robot Horse Design Help

Working on this horse I can't get out of this design block where the front leg connect to the body. Also, on the back leg in between the cylinder piece and the tail. Whats there currently I'm not a fan of. I keep going back and fourth with different things, always coming up either empty or not liking it. I'm drawing a frustrating blank...
