8 hours per day is good for be a great artist and improve skills?

Im an evironment artist and I spend 8 hours  per day working on my artworks with just one hour of break.
My goal is improve my artskils and working more efficiently in less time 
Do you think is enough?
How many hours do you spend?

8 hours is fine, but if you think you need more time, is up to you. The more hours, the faster we reach our goals.

But don't overkill yourself. Remember: eight hours for work, eight hours for rest, and eight hours for what you will.

Well it's all relative, if 8hrs is your benchmark of artistic devotion per day plus 1hr set aside for doing something else...all good. Personally since I don't derive an income nowadays from my efforts, it's basically levelling up technical workflow aspects and simple fun however if a particular itch needs scratching then may morph into pulling an 'all nighter' with a copious amount of sleep afterward : P
