Hi everyone. This is my first post, hope I'm posting this in the right thread!
I recently started on a CG generalist education, and, having never touched CG before, I'm finding it quite fun and quite challenging! However, I can't draw, at all, and I feel like it's limiting me an enormous amount. The teachers at my school assure me that I don't need to be able to draw, since I'll be modeling/animating after concept art from hired artists, but ideally I'd like to be able to draw my own concept art/storyboards etc if need be. I've also begun reading the Animation Survival Kit by Richard Williams, and one of the first things he suggests (before beginning to learn animation, even) is to learn to draw.
So my question is this: Which style of drawing would be most beneficial, as a student CG generalist, to learn? I would love to hear thoughts on this.
Thanks in advance!
AG.

You'll learn how to observe, line weight, composition, values, etc.
Studying figure drawing and perspective is also incredibly useful in all arts. From an animation point of view, you don't need to be a god-tier artist (though if you're a 2D animator then you'll of course have to be good at it), but being able to scribble down poses and storyboards has been very helpful to me.
