Hi guys,

hope you can help me with the foloowing issue I'm facing already a long time.
As I started working on my unreal scene this week again I hope to clarify this issue soon.

The issue is that my textured objects look totally different un UE4 then in Substance Painter, especially the roughness map.
And yes, I already unchecked the SRGB box in UE4.

So first picture is how my asset looks in Substance Painter:

And here the second is how it looks in UE4

Also a screenshot of the roughness map from substance... maybe this helps...

And yeah as already told... SRGB is switched off...

I also tried the packed Textures from substance as well as 1 texture for Metal, rough and ao... same result.

Thank you for your help guys.

Greets
Dennis

You should match the lighting in UE4 by using the same HDRI from Painter in a Movable SkyLight. It's hard to tell what's wrong just by the screenshots, but matching the lighting can help.

Is your Roughness texture a PNG?

PNG from Designer has a known issue with color space. Maybe its fixed by now, I don't know because I only tried png in an earlier version. Also, I don't know if it affects Painter too.

The point with the same HDRI is a good one...

In the meanwhile I played around with the Lightmass Settings in the World Settings Tab. So I set them back to default and got a much better result...

I'm still not that super satisfied how my textures look in UE4, but it's much better then before...
