Hello guys!
I couldn't finish my artstation entry on Legend of King Arthur challange on time but I decided to finish it anyway
. I choose to model scene based on Cmy Cai's concept which you can see here:
https://www.artstation.com/contests/the-legend-of-king-arthur/challenges/65/submissions/44437?sorting=popularAlso link to the artist:
https://www.artstation.com/cmyIm not rushing with that project. I really have fun with experiments with shaders, different approaches and workflows for creating assets and materials. It's my experimental field
. It's hard to tell on which stage I am. I finished blockout and now Im creating assets. I've done some architectural pieces with some simple materials and now I'm going to sculpt angels figures. Everything you can see on screenshoots are work in progress- some of the textures are placeholders and others needs more love.
Here you can see some zbrush columns sculpts from early stages, blockout screenshot and current stage:
I'm using for modeling Blender and Zbrush and for texturing Substance Painter/ Designer. Scene is made in Unreal Engine.
Hope you like it!
I'm open for every critique, questions and discussion.
Thank you!

I've done small update with angels. I made cups for them. Also I worked on shaders to make them more interesting, I thought it would be cool if some magic fluid will move on them. You can see it on gif and renders.
I've done a step forward with this. I painted architecture on the first plan properly (architecture behind angels are still blockout with simple material) and I adjusted shader to look better- textures still need some work. Brick texture on arc wall is temporary
Also I did a step back and I fit camera closer to the original concept and I did blockout for leafs and trees. Lighting has changed and I tested some postprocessing features to see how they work. Overall I think mood and feeling of space are lot better than before. Next step will be to create that 'channel' in the floor on the first plan. Renders are below, please share what you guys think! Thanks!
Here's a small update. I made a stone wall for the channel on first plan. I made it as unique asset and texture since it's very close to the camera.
Thank you, glad you like it!
