ZBrush - Problem with seams after using DynaMesh

Hi

New member of the forum here. Apologies if this isn't in the right place. I have a slight issue in ZBrush, which I've been learning in preparation for starting my uni course tomorrow - Game Art. I'm currently following a book and it suggests to piece together a character's body roughly using primitives with the Insert Mesh Brush. For the hands and fingers though, it's giving me horrible seams where they're joined together. And that's after using a combination of DynaMesh and ZRemesher.

Even when adding Clay Buildup and smoothing, the seams still show, and in some cases the 'connection' between the joints disappears and the fingers look like they're hovering. I'm not sure what to do. All the parts are combined in a single SubTool. I think the main culprit is that the book says to have each part in its own Polygroup and for these groups to be kept when using ZRemesher and DynaMesh. Is there any way of keeping their groups but merging them more seamlessly?
