Our client is an independent game development studio, focusing on creating genre-defining, free to play MMO games for mobile and tablets. We are looking for a candidate who understands how MMOs work from both a content and systems perspective. Their design team is small, so we need someone who can learn quickly and has no problem getting their hands dirty. The ideal candidate will work well with others and collaborate with the team, while being able to work independently to get things done.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and implement approved systems, features and content
- Spec out and document upcoming systems, features and content with direction from the lead game designer and management
- Work with members of art and programming to define and document requests
- Discuss and collaborate with fellow designers on feature and content ideas
- Create and maintain agile game design documentation
- Carry out any other duties consistent with the post as may be required
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5 years of game design experience, with experience in MMORPGs highly preferable
- Experience implementing content and/or systems, and a willingness to fill in the gaps
- Knowledge of Excel
- Ability to learn custom design tools quickly
- Good at writing documentation for multiple audiences
- A love for MMOs of various flavors
- Mobile game design knowledge
Salary and Relocation package will be based on experience.
