https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EdLaVm9sfM0https://www.artstation.com/artwork/zAq0NmIn my little part of Florida, back in 1995, these woods existed behind the house of someone who as a friend of mine at the time. The wooded area wasn't perhaps more than two tenths of a mile long; a strip of forest that had yet to be turned into another single-family subdivision. That's what it is now when I check Google Earth, sadly, but at the time it was one of the most glorious things I had ever seen.
Imagine these great southern oaks stretching up above you, huge canopies sheltering you from the summer heat. Brown leaves everywhere all over the ground, no grass, no dirt. Just golden brown leaves. Huge trees on both sides of you, making a natural grand hallway as though you were standing in a mansion carved out of nature itself.
This is my attempt at recreating a precious memory of a place that no longer exists.
