Hello everyone.
Last I checked on Artstation I saw a bunch of stunning gears 5 hard surface models. In all of them, Fusion 360 was on of software used.
I am a Maya user, I use NURBS modeling only for cables. My goal is to become a competitive hard surface modeler. I wonder if learning Fusion 360 can help me achieve that.
What exactly are the differences between Maya NURBS modeling and Fusion 360?
Is Fusion 360 better optimized or easier for NURBS modeling?
I know how to model hard surface on Maya pretty well, is it going to be easy for me to learn Fusion for hard surface modeling purpose?
What are your opinion about Fusion 360?

Rhino is the "crayons" of nurbs modeling and it is far more easier to learn than fusion or catia. The main caveat of rhino is that you have to constantly leave "bread crumbs" about what you do. It is very common in rhino that you have to delete your creation and go some steps back and do it again with slightly different strategy.
Rhino has the best 2d curve tools and it is very easy to use. I use rhino when i design modular hard surface environmental pieces. I rhino you can measure EVERYTHING easily. The only feature i miss in Rhino is a history like in Fusion or Catia. But then again... if it would have similar history it would also get really rigid to use.
The most useful features in Rhino are the direction lock in TAB key, the difference in selection tool if you draw the selection from left to right or right to left and 2D curve tools...
My favourite icon is in smash tool..
