Where to find freelance jobs?

Hey, so for couple of days now i was trying to find some freelance job postings. I have tried my luck on big platforms like upwork and freelancer but the whole thing seems really scummy and overwelming amount of negative rewievs that you can find on sitejabber seem to proof it.

So If there is no reliable platform where you can look for work without being shut down by raiting or the fact that you have a free account, where do you find a source of income? Am i doing something wrong? I mean, i have experience of working in the industry, and a portfolio. The only problem i have is reach. How do i fix it?

If you're open to shorter one off projects there's CG Hero. I've had positive experiences working on their projects and stuff off their job board. The founders have been in the industry for a long time and are trying to build a freelance platform for CG artists.
