I'd look into adding a bit of Sub Surface Scattering or Parallax effects to the orb to give it more depth. Is that grip supposed to be wood or leather? Warcraft artists tend to really hammer in the idea that materials need to be VERY obvious about what they are.

The grip is supposed to be leather. I didn't want to mimic warcraft completely, but I see that I need to work more on my materials... I'll take a look at Sub Surface Scattering ans Parallax effects for my next project. Thank you so much for the feedback!!
