Hello everyone,

So I am not quite a noob at 3D anymore but I am new to MAX (blender user) and have never rigged a model in my life.

I am now working on a Luger P8 and I want to make a few renders where the toggle is pulled. I worked quite hard on making the mechanics plausible and I want to show that in my render. I don't want to animate it, just have a few cool renders with the toggle pulled  Problem is, I have never rigged a model before.

So what I want is basically this movement at 0:20

And here is how my LP looks like. How should I approach this?

I'm not sure I would bother rigging it up. You could probably just place the pivots in the right places for the objects and animate them directly in the timeline.

If you're still working on it and making changes you might want to animate dummy objects and then either link the objects to the dummies directly or skin the objects to the dummies. That way the animation lives on the dummy objects and you can update the mesh as needed without screwing up the animation.

Cool looking model by the way =)
